2011 West Yosemite season preview SUMMARY

El Diamante has swept the West Yosemite League the last four seasons and currently has a 28-game winning streak in league play. However Hanford, Lemoore or Mt. Whitney may finally have a team that’s ready to end that streak.

2010 Champion: El Diamante 9-2 (6-0) outright champs. VOTE BELOW for who you think with win the WYL in 2011.

TEAM SUMMARIES (2010 Record)

EL DIAMANTE (9-2, 6-0) Graduated a talented and deep class, but coach Rogers always has his team ready to go. Miners will be young but athletic.
GOLDEN WEST (2-8, 1-5) Trailblazers optimistic, but program still has some growing to do.
HANFORD (6-5, 2-4) Mature, athletic cast ready to help sophomore quarterback make a big impact.
HANFORD WEST (3-7, 0-6) Tevin Loftis is a nice running back, but will need more help.
LEMOORE (8-5, 3-3) Quarterback Brent Farris came up big in the playoffs, nearly sent his team to the Valley Championship. That’s where the Tigers have their sights set this year.
MT. WHITNEY (5-6, 4-2) New coach Marty Martin trying to keep his team’s talent level a secret. Everyone will know soon enough.
REDWOOD (8-4, 3-1) New coach with new schemes will take some adjusting. Nice athletes if they can grasp coach Ball’s schemes.
