Adams’ 3 TDs lead Arvin in upset over Wasco

Derek Adams scored two crucial fourth quarter touchdowns in leading his Arvin Bears to a 31-28 upset over No. 22 Wasco on Friday night.

Adams led the Bears’ rushing attack with 11 carries for 140 yards and three touchdowns on the night.

Leading just 17-14 in the fourth quarter, Adams broke a 56-yard touchdown run to give a little breathing run. Minutes later he scored another on an eight-yard run.

But Wasco wasn’t going away.

Gabriel Cabezuela rushed for a four-yard touchdown and Deonte Henderson added a 20-yard touchdown run to pull within three points. But that is as close as the Tigers would get.

In addition to Adams’ efforts, Rafael Velasquez rushed 13 times for 102 yards, while Jorge Casas added two carries for 46 yards and John Graves had seven carries for 30 yards and a touchdown.

Cabezuela led the Tigers with 24 carries for 183 yards and three touchdowns and Henderson rushed 14 times for 92 yards and a touchdown.
