Allen has big game in Reedley College win

Firebaugh graduate Josh Allen accounted for more than 400 yards of total offense and five total touchdowns in Reedley College’s 45-10 win over Cabrillo on Saturday.

Allen completed 19-of-31 passes for 317 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions, while rushing for 87 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.

Cabrillo jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the game and seemingly in control to end the first quarter. But Reedley reeled off 45 unanswered points.

Allen’s top target of the day was Rafael Araujo-Lopes, who lit Cabrillo up to the tune of eight catches for 133 yards and a touchdown. Justin Neal added two receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown and Caleb Horton caught three passes for 71 yards and two touchdowns.

The Reedley defense limited Cabrillo to just 295 yards of total offense. The Tigers were particularly stingy against the run, allowing just 31 yards on 25 attempts.
