Allen leads Wyoming in blemishing Boise State’s undefeated record

Firebaugh grad Josh Allen quarterbacked his Wyoming Cowboys to a 30-28 upset of previous unbeaten and 13th-ranked Boise State on Saturday in Laramie.

Allen was efficient through the air and utilized his legs at times too in leading Cowboys.

The former Reedley College standout completed 18-of-31 passes for 274 yards, three touchdowns and just one interception. He also rushed 11 times for 53 yards in the victory.

The Cowboys trailed 21-7 at one point in the second quarter, but came back and tied the game at 28-28 with 6:42 remaining in the fourth. With 1:25 remaining in the game, Wyoming nose tackle Chase Appleby sacked Boise State Brett Rypien in the endzone for a safety, to give the Cowboys a 30-28 win.
