Firebaugh grad Josh Allen led his Wyoming Cowboys to a wild 40-34 win over Northern Illinois that began Saturday night but finally ended at 2:34 a.m. on Sunday.

The game was originally slated for a late 8:30 p.m. MT kickoff to begin with, plus a 110-minute weather delay and the contest went into three overtimes.

Unphased by the interruption, Allen played well through, completing 19-of-29 passes for 245 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He also showed his versatility with 10 rushing attempts for 70 yards and a touchdown.

Allen’s seven-yard touchdown run in the third overtime proved to be the game-winner.

Wyoming next travels to Nebraska to face the Huskers next Saturday.
