Cabral, Williams, Varelas receive Week 2 Player of the Week honors

Sierra Pacific’s Hunter Cabral, Redwood’s Justin Williams and Frontier’s Armando Varelas received Player of the Week honors for their individual Week 2 performances.

EDITOR’S CHOICE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
HUNTER CABRAL, SIERRA PACIFIC — set a state single-game record with 10 sacks vs. Riverdale.

PEOPLE’S CHOISE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JUSTIN WILLIAMS, RB, REDWOOD — rushed for 252 yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries, plus caught three passes for 101 yards and a touchdown.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ARMANDO VARELAS, DE, FRONTIER — recorded eight tackles, two tackles for a loss and two sacks.

Cabral, Williams and Varelas are each only eligible to win Player of the Week once during the 2015 season. For the remainder of the calendar month of September, Redwood cannot have an Offensive POW candidate and Sierra Pacific and Frontier cannot have a Defensive POW candidate.
