Cardoza, Cunningham named Week 2 Players of the Week

Exeter-7590

Woodlake’s Eli Cunningham was voted the People’s Choice Player of the Week for Week 2, while Exeter’s Austin Cardoza was named the Editor’s Choice Player of the Week.

Cunningham rushed for 290 yards and two touchdowns, as his Tigers edged Farmersville, 29-28, in a budding Tulare County rivalry.

Cardoza rushed for 358 yards and five touchdowns on 18 carries, for an average just shy of 20 yards per carry, as his Lions defeated Taft, 41-6.

Cunningham and Cardoza are limited to being named Player of the Week once for the 2013 season (regardless whether it is People’s Choice or Editor’s Choice).

Each team is only allowed one winner per calendar month, neither Woodlake or Exeter will be eligible to have another player as a candidate for Player of the Week for the remainder of September.
