Bakersfield Christian grad and Oakland Raider quarterback Derek Carr showed his resiliency by bouncing back from one of his roughest starts of his rookie year with possibly his most dominant on Sunday.

Carr set a new career high completion percentage and threw three touchdowns without a pick in the Raiders’ 24-13 win over their Bay Area rival San Francisco 49ers.

Last week Carr went 24-for-39 for 173 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions and was sacked three times for 23 yards in a 52-0 loss to the St. Louis Rams.

This week the Fresno State legend responded by going 22-for-28 or 78.6 percent of his passes for 254 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.

Conversely former Nevada standout Collin Kaepernick completed just 18-of-33 passes for 174 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions for the 49ers.

Carr has now completed 60.5 percent of his passes on the season for 2,676 yards, 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
