Former Bakersfield Christian and Fresno State star and Oakland Raider quarterback Derek Carr drew praise from legendary quarterback Brett Favre.

Former Packer and Viking great said he did not know if he would consider Carr a gunslinger.

“I think he’s a little more polished,” Favre said. “And I mean that with all due respect. I think he’s done a tremendous job in Oakland.”

Last year, in his second season in the league, Carr completed 61.1 percent of his passes for 3,987 yards, 32 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

The Raiders won four more games than the year before—Carr’s rookie season—but fell just short of a .500 season with a 7-9 record.

With a bolstered offensive line, Carr and the Raider offense have big expectations.
