Former No. 1 overall draft pick David Carr and current Oakland Raider Derek Carr will hold a camp for all positions on July 19 at Clovis West.

David prepped at Stockdale and Derek graduated from Bakersfield Christian. Both later starred for Fresno State, setting countless school records along the way.

Along with brother and Bakersfield High assistant coach Darren Carr, father Roger Carr and an experienced staff, the Carrs will host the camp on the freshman field at Clovis West on July 19. Youth will begin at 9 a.m. and the high school camp will begin at noon.

Camp director Eric Mahanke, who played at Fresno State with David, said the camp is provide elite instruction and training within the Valley.

“This is something that we definitely need to have in Valley, so our athletes don’t have to go to LA to get skill training or go to Arizona for combine workouts,” Mahanke said.

The cost of the camp is $150 for athletes who register in advance at carrelitefootball.com. Participants can also register the day of the camp for an additional $25 charge.

Each participant will receive a tshirt and a photo signed by David and Derek Carr.
