Coalinga edges Kerman on the road

Coalinga’s two Orlandos—Hernandez and Iniguez—combined for three touchdowns to help the Horned Toads go into Kerman and edged the Lions for a 26-24 road victory.

Hernandez rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries in the contest.

Iniguez caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Jimmy Juarez and ended the game with three receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown.

Juarez went 8-for-19 for 121 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.

Kerman took an early 14-0 lead in the second quarter, but the Horned Toads responded with a pair of touchdowns of their own.

Kerman kicker Alexis Cruz booted a 46-yard field goal before half to give the Lions a 17-14 lead at the midway point.

But Hernandez’s two rushing touchdowns—both in the second half—proved to be the difference.

Andrew Flores rushed for 92 yards and touchdown on 23 carries for the Lions.

Kerman quarterback Evan Sagariballa went 13-for-25 for 192 yards, a touchdown and an interception, plus he rushed for a five-yard score.
