Dominguez scores deciding TD in Selma win vs. Dinuba

Selma was in jeopardy of watching its perfect go down at the hands of the Dinuba Emperors, but the Bears scored the go-ahead touchdown in the final quarter and escape with a 28-21 win on Friday.

Selma took a 13-0 lead in the second half on a 10-yard touchdown run by Jordan Dominguez. But the Emperors responded with a pair of Gustavo Villareal touchdown passes, to take a 14-13 lead into halftime.

The squads exchanged touchdowns in the second half, until Dominguez put the Bears up for good with a two-yard touchdown run in the fourth.

Dominguez ended the game with 15 carries for 68 yards and two touchdowns and quarterback Junior Ramirez added 11 carries for 73 yards.

Six-foot-five junior Tiveon Stroud is turning into a weapon for the Bear offense. After rushing for more than 100 yards last week, this week he returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown to go with his four receptions for 72 yards.

Despite the loss, the Emperors were able to move the ball through the air. Villarreal went 13-for-25 for 295 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

His top target was Joseph Saldivar, who caught four passes for 160 yards and a touchdown. Nathan Carrion and Israel Garcia each caught touchdown passes for the Emperors.
