Edison crushes Madera South, 48-7


Six Tigers scored touchdowns in No. 1 Edison’s 48-7 dismantling of Madera South on Thursday at Sunnyside Stadium.

Edison quarterback A.J. Green connected with Tyrone Smith on a five-yard hitch, which Smith converted into a 10-yard touchdown reception, for the Tigers’ first score of the game.

Kevin Nutt scored on a pair of touchdown runs and Blake Wright added a 17-yard touchdown run.

Edison’s Tyler Horton returned a punt 80 yards back to the house for a touchdown.

Khai Williams scored on a 22-yard touchdown run and Charles Wheeler broke a 42-yard touchdown run to open up the second half.

In the fourth quarter the Stallions broke up the shutout with a nine-yard touchdown run by Seth Robles.

The top-ranked Edison Tigers remained undefeated with a 7-0 record and 2-0 in CMAC action. Madera South on the other hand dropped to 1-6 overall and still look for its first league win, at 0-2.
