Formerly winless Dos Palos ends Mendota streak

Last year Mendota finally ended Dos Palos strangle hold on the all-time series, on Friday the Broncos got its revenge by ended the Aztecs’ 17-game winning streak.

The two schools came in with opposite records, with the Mendota 5-0 and Dos Palos 0-5, yet the Broncos came away with a 28-14 win at home.

Bronco running back Izzac Suarez rushed for three touchdowns in the game and Ryan Willis had a four-yard touchdown run.

Dos Palos realized you can’t stop Mendota’s Edgar Segura, but it did its best to contain the junior running back. Segura busted a 66-yard touchdown run and his other score was a 38-yard touchdown catch from Estevan Trejo.

It was the first league game for both squads.
