Groathouse leads Kentucky State comeback victory

Lemoore grad Cort Groathouse threw his first touchdown pass of the season and led his Kentucky State Thorobreds to an overtime, comeback 17-14 victory over Central State on Saturday.

Groathouse did not start but entered the game in the third quarter and completed his first attempt for a five-yard completion.

Trailing 14-0 at the time, the former Lemoore standout put Kentucky State on the board with a two-yard touchdown pass to Jakar Turner with 6:19 remaining in the fourth quarter.

The Thorobreds would add another touchdown to force overtime and win on a 23-yard field goal in overtime.

Groathouse ended the game 4-of-8 for 23 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
