Harris has big night, but Mission Oak prevails


Tulare running back Romello Harris rushed for just shy of 300 yards, but the Redskins couldn’t put enough together, as they lost to No. 20 Mission Oak, 42-21, on Friday in Tulare.

Harris rushed for a game-high 283 yards and three touchdowns on 36 carries in the loss.

The Hawks took a 14-0 lead into halftime and extended it to a 21-0 lead on a 70-yard run by Le’Andre Jefferson in the third quarter.

Harris got the Redskins on the board with three-yard run in the third quarter and they did what they could, but couldn’t ever overcome the early deficit..

The Hawks didn’t pass a lot, but were efficient when they did. Quarterback Trey McJunkin completed 6-of-8 passes for 181 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. He also scored one with his feet.

Koby Tripp caught two of McJunkin’s touchdown passes and ended the game with four catches for 120 yards.

Jeffery Demacabalin led the Hawks with 16 carries for 90 yards and a touchdown.

Jefferson rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown on four carries and caught two passes for 61 yards and a touchdown.
