Hodges intercepts first pass of Colorado State career

Independence graduate Preston Hodges picked off his first pass of his Division I football career in his Colorado State Rams’ 42-17 home win against Tulsa on Saturday.

Hodges started at the nickel cornerback position and was having a productive first quarter for the Ram defense.

First he broke up a pass during Tulsa’s first possession, then picked off Golden Hurricane quarterback Dane Evans to end its second drive.

But early in the second quarter, he was called for targeting and was ejected from the game.

Edison graduate Kevin Nutt and Clovis North graduate Josh Lovingood each made appearances for the Colorado State defense and each recorded a tackle in the game.

Colorado State is now 4-1 on the season and 0-1 against Mountain West opponents.
