Josh-Hokit

Senior Josh Hokit scored a touchdown on both sides of the ball, as Clovis outlasted Edison, 28-6, to advance to the Division I Valley Semifinals.

Hokit put the Cougars first on the board by returning a fumble two yards for a touchdown.

He would later add a seven-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach for the Tigers. Hokit finished the game with 12 carries for 72 yards and a rushing touchdown and a defensive touchdown.

Clovis took a 14-0 lead in the second quarter with a 23-yard touchdown pass from Sean Kuenzinger to JJ Wills.

However Edison cut into the deficit when quarterback Gerard Mendez connected with Khalil Martin for an eight-yard touchdown pass.

Clovis would take only a 14-6 lead into halftime.

However Clovis added another touchdown on a one-yard run by Nash Vidmar and Hokit sealed the victory with his rushing touchdown.

Clovis will move on to face Clovis North in the Division I Valley Semifinals.
