Hughes, McDaniel take long drive for unofficial to Arizona

Hughes-McDaniel

Following their game on Friday, Hanford’s standout juniors Joseph McDaniel and Juwuane Hughes had just enough time to take a shower and load up the car for unofficial visit to the University of Arizona.

Their fathers—Cedric Hughes and Joseph McDaniel, Sr.—drove them through the night and arrived in Tuscon on Saturday.

The duo were on the sidelines for the Wildcats’ game against USC on Saturday.

“The environment was great,” Hughes said. “I was impressed with their fan base and how much support they get from everyone in Arizona.”

McDaniel said he enjoyed the trip and was not intimidated by the setting.

“It’s exciting to talk and be up close to some of the players and realize you’re just as big or bigger than a lot of the skill guys,” McDaniel said.

Both of the Bullpups said they had a great time and were impressed with what they saw.

“My overall impression is how nice the facilities were and how well organized the staff is about everything,” McDaniel said.

Hughes also mentioned how well organized the visit was.

“We had a really good time,” Hughes confirmed. “I really was impressed with how organized they had everything set up for the recruits.”
