Independence’s Hodges’ first 4 passes go for TDs

The Independence coaching staff only called five pass plays in first half, yet senior quarterback Preston Hodges still notched four touchdown passes under his belt going into halftime on Friday against Mira Monte.

In front of the home crowd Hodges completed each of his first four passing attempts for touchdowns in the Falcons’ 42-21 win.

Proving he is human, his fifth pass attempt was incomplete, but he was done throwing the ball for the night, as he ended completing 4-of-5 passes for 175 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.

Christopher Ellis caught an 80-yard touchdown pass and a six-yard touchdown pass, Derek Check caught a 65-yard touchdown pass and Jonathan Moore caught a 24-yard touchdown pass.

Hodges also rushed for 70 yards on 10 carries.

Mira Monte was led by J.C. Brown’s 105 rushing yards.
