Bakersfield Christian quarterback Brandon Jones was dealing again on Friday night, as he passed for five touchdowns in the 20-ranked Eagles’ 42-14 win over Arvin.

Jones was nearly perfect, going 9-for-11 for 224 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions.

Since starting the season 1-3, Bakersfield Christian has now won four of its last five games and is back over .500 for the first times since being 1-0 after Week 0.

Jones threw touchdown passes to three different receivers in the contest—R.J. Oliver and Zach Balfanz each had a pair of touchdown passes and Kyle Pickinpaugh caught another.

Arvin tied the game at 7-7 on a 10-yard touchdown run by quarterback Derek Adams. But the Eagles responded with 35 unanswered points before Arvin got on the board again.

Adams ended the game 9-of-16 passing for 122 yards, a touchdown and an interception, plus rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.
