Jountti goes off

Liberty-Bakersfield running back Corbin Jountti came out to leave an impression on Friday night against Delano and by time he walked out of the stadium he had five touchdowns and 192 yards to his name.

The Patriots rolled past Tigers, 56-7, in the season opener. The entire Liberty team reportedly is playing with extra motivation.

“The team is carrying a lot of emotion because we got a lot to prove this season,” Jountti told the Bakersfield Californian. “We came in prepared, and we were ready to play tonight.”

The entire Patriot defensive unit had a good night, limiting the Tigers to 187 yards of total offense.

Senior wide receiver Kenny Davis scored on the first play from scrimmage on a 30-yard pass from Josh Medina.
