Kemp caps off Sierra comeback with pick-6

David Kemp capped off a fourth-quarter comeback with a pick-6 in Sierra’s 28-24 road win over Kerman on Friday.

The Chieftains trailed 24-12 heading into the fourth quarter. But Tristan Rehorn’s three-yard touchdown started the comeback, followed by a safety and finished off with Kemp’s eight-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Rehorn led all rushers with 159 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.

Sierra quarterback Brent Smith struggled, going 8-for-20 in the game for 49 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions. But he was also involved with all of the Chieftains’ scoring in the first three quarters—touchdown pass and two field goals.

Kerman quarterback Evan Sagariballa went 9-for-15 for 163 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

Andrew Flores led the Lions in rushing with 15 carries for 76 yards. Short-yardage specialist Ryan Wright rushed twice for seven yards and two touchdowns.
