Kendricks adjusting well at Vikings rookie mini camp

Hoover graduate and former UCLA linebacker Eric Kendricks got his first taste of being an official NFL player this past week at the Minnesota Vikings rookie mini camp.

He discussed how the learning process has gone so far with Paul Allen of the Vikings Radio Network on Wednesday.

“It’s just new plays, new communication and new verbiage,” Kendricks said. “For me, I’m trying to think too much and not really playing the game, but once it starts slowing down, it’ll be fine.”

Kendricks also said his college experience and work ethic will help him overcome the steep NFL learning curve.

“I feel like my college prepared me well for it and I just work hard in the film room and work hard on the practice field,” he said. “Anything else I just try to correct and go from there.”

He summed up the draft as a “crazy process” filled with countless unknowns.

“So when I got the call, I was more than thrilled,” Kendricks said about the Vikings drafting him.
