Kerman holds on for tough road win over McLane

Four different Lions scored on Friday, as Kerman went on the road and upended McLane, 34-28, on Friday in the first round of the Division IV Valley Playoffs.

Kerman running back Andrew Flores rushed 25 times for 108 yards and his fourth-quarter touchdown proved to be the difference in the six-point victory.

McLane took a 14-7 lead into halftime and, after exchanging touchdowns, McLane held a 21-14 lead midway through the third quarter.

However the Lions scored three unanswered touchdowns to take a 34-21 lead in the fourth quarter.

McLane running back Ronald Davis scored his third touchdown of the night on a two-yard run, to make it a one-touchdown game. However the Highlanders couldn’t add to their score and Kerman came out on top.

Davis ended the night with 21 carries for 88 yards and two touchdowns and four catches for 90 yards and a touchdown.

McLane quarterback Brandon Moua completed 17-of-36 passes for 198 yards and two touchdowns, but also threw three interceptions.

Kerman receiver Jordan Godinez had a monster night with four catches for 178 yards and two touchdowns.
