Kern Valley comes away with big league win

Kern Valley went on the road and knocked off Frazier Mountain, 16-7, in a crucial High Desert League showdown on Friday.

Both squads came into the matchup with identical 4-1 records and appeared to be the favorites for the league title.

Kern Valley quarterback Dalton Gallis completed 10-of-16 passes for 184 yards and a touchdown in the contest.

While Kern Valley was airing it out, Frazier Mountain was pounding it out on the ground for 216 yards rushing, led by Riley Daniels’ 23 carries for 126 yards and a touchdown and Matt Regan’s 17 carries for 50 yards.

Linebacker Brennen Medley led the Kern Valley defense with 22 tackles, followed by linebacker Mason Meyers with 20 stops and two forced fumbles.
