Kingsburg escapes with ‘W’ over Golden West

Brandon Steele rushed for two touchdowns and passed for another, as his Kingsburg Vikings escaped with a 22-18 win on Friday at home against Golden West.

The Trailblazer defense kept the Viking offense in check for the most part, limiting Steele to just 10-for-25 passing for 108 yards, a touchdown and an interception and just 30 yards of rushing.

Viking running back Seth Brooks, who came up big last week, was limited to just 50 yards on 16 carries.

Quadre Ford led the Trailblazers’ upset-minded efforts, as he rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries, plus he threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Derek Glasgow.

The Vikings’ home winning streak received a scare but remained in tact.
