Lake, Castaneda, Layton named Week 3 Players of the Week

Clovis’ Trey Lake, Sunnyside’s Jesus Castaneda and Kerman’s Mason Layton were named the Week 3 CentralValleyFootball.com Players of the Week.

EDITOR’S CHOICE PLAYER OF THE WEEK — TREY LAKE, QB, CLOVIS — completed 16-of-28 passes for 327 yards, four touchdowns and one interception.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK — JESUS CASTANEDA, WR, SUNNYSIDE — caught six passes for 111 yards and a touchdown.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK — MASON LAYTON, DB, KERMAN — recorded eight tackles and two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown.

A player is only eligible to win Player of the Week once during the season and a team is only eligible to win once during a calendar month.
