Laton’s Arciga posts second-straight 300-yard game

Most running backs usually don’t reach the 300-yard mark in a game, Laton’s Sergio “Speedy” Arciga has two-straight to his name, the most recent coming in the Mustangs’ 49-0 shutout of Minarets on Friday.

Arciga rushed for 318 yards and five touchdowns on 21 carries, after posting 344 yards and four touchdowns last week against Fresno Christian.

The Mustangs’ Arturo Gaona added four carries for 43 yards with a 22-yard touchdown run.

Laton quarterback Christian Pilgrim completed 2-of-4 passes for 41 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions.

Eduardo Perez caught one of those passes for 25 yards and the other one was a 16-yard touchdown toss to Isaiah Jimenez.

The Mustangs are now 2-1 on the season.
