Liberty-Madera Ranchos overpowers Firebaugh

Nearly every time Liberty-Madera Ranchos senior Logan Pierce touched the ball he took it to the house, as the Hawks ran wild in a 70-6 blowout of Firebaugh on Friday.

Pierce started the game with a 14-yard touchdown reception, followed by a 33-yard touchdown catch just in the first quarter. He then went on to pick off a pass and return it to the house for a 32-yard interception return for a touchdown. For good measure, he returned a punt 44 yards for another touchdown—giving him four total touchdowns for the night.

Jackson Watts only carried the ball twice in the game, but led the Hawks with 117 yards rushing and both of his attempts went for 50+ yard touchdown runs.

Wade Wallace rushed for five times for 82 yards and a touchdown.

Chad Wallace, Richie Brandt and Eli Soliz each scored touchdowns for the Hawks in the season-opening rout.

Firebaugh got on the board in the fourth quarter with a 22-yard touchdown run by Frank Herrera.
