Mathews scores first TD of the year vs. Jaguars

Ryan-Mathews-Chargers

West graduate and former Fresno State Bulldog Ryan Mathews went over the 100-yard mark and scored his first rushing touchdown of the year in a 24-6 win for his San Diego Chargers over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Mathews rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries in the win.

His touchdown was the final score of the game on a three-yard touchdown run.

Mathew’s performance on Sunday was his second straight 100-yard game of the year. He’s now rushed for 446 yards his season with a 4.1 yards-per-carry average.

Earlier this year he caught a 14-yard touchdown pass in the season opener against the Texans for the Chargers’ first score of the 2013 season.

The Chargers are 4-3 on the season and have won three of their past four games.
