McAdams, Smith lead Sierra rushing attack

Sierra’s Gage McAdams and Brent Smith just missed the combined 200-yard mark by one yard, as the Chieftains handled Minarets 31-7 on Friday in Oneals.

McAdams rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries, while Smith rushed for 72 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries.

Smith also completed 3-of-6 passes for 44 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions.

Leo Cash added a nine-yard touchdown, as the Chieftains won their season opener.

Keenan Reardon connected with Cosmo Tracy on a 20-yard touchdown pass for the Mustangs only score of the night.
