McMaryion, Taylor connect on four TDs for Dinuba

Dinuba’s Marcus McMaryion and Aaron Taylor are making a strong case for the best quarterback-receiver connection in the Valley.

The duo connected on four touchdown passes on Friday against Delano, in the Emperors’ 56-21 win on the road.

McMaryion went 11-for-21 on the night for 224 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.

Taylor caught a total of five passes for 113 yards and four touchdowns. Ernesto Ruiz also added three receptions for 60 yards.

Dinuba jumped out to a 14-7 lead to end the first quarter, but then second quarter is when the Emperors really buried the Tigers, outscoring them 35-7 for the quarter.

Dinuba safety Michael Wright had an interception he returned 20 yards for a touchdown, plus rushed for a two-yard touchdown on offense. Omar Duarte rushed six times for Dinuba for 12 yards and two touchdowns.

Delano has a pretty good 1-2 punch of its own in Daniel Quiroz and Pedro Aguirre, but the duo was a little off on Friday.

Quiroz went 8-for-22 for 140 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Aguirre caught four of those passes for 47 yards and two touchdowns. Mario Acuna also had two receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown.

Dinuba moves to 5-1 on the year and Delano drops to 3-2.
