Meek’s 3 TDs help Liberty edge Garces

Cameron Meek rushed for three touchdowns to lead Liberty-Bakersfield to a 33-27 win over Garces on Friday.

Garces got on the board first with a 39-yard touchdown pass from Joseph Tobias to Lebrevon Austin.

However the Patriots would respond with a touchdown pass of their own, a 25-yard connection from Isaiah Hill to Luke Fringer, as the teams would go into halftime tied.

Meek scored his first touchdown on a 28-yard run in the third and teammate Josh Robertson added a 41-yard field goal, and the Rams would be playing catchup the remainder of the game.

Meek led all rushers with 22 carries for 168 yards and three touchdowns. Hill added 12 carries for 57 yards and Grant Bice contributed nine carries for 51 yards for the Patriots.

Through the air, Hill went 7-for-11 for 123 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions.

Isaiah Martin was the Rams leading rusher with 16 carries for 85 yards and a touchdown. Tobias was 9-for-16 for 174 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Austin led all receivers with four catches for 81 yards and two touchdowns.
