Metcalf accounts for 4 TDs in Farmersville shutout

Farmersville quarterback Sam Metcalf accounted for four touchdowns in his Aztecs’ 35-0 shutout of Orosi on Friday in Farmersville.

Metcalf got the scoring start with his feet on a two-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

He added an 18-yard touchdown pass to Edwin Quiroz in the second quarter.

But Orosi was still keeping the game competitive, trailing just 14-0 heading into halftime.

In the second half Metcalf came out and threw a 52-yard touchdown pass to Jose Solis, following by a 79-yard touchdown pass to Andrew Williamson, to extend the lead to 28-0.

Metcalf finished the game with 26-of-40 passing for 429 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions, plus his rushing touchdown.

In the fourth quarter, Williamson completed a seven-yard touchdown pass to Joseph De La Cruz.

De La Cruz led the Aztecs with 12 catches for 155 yards and a touchdown. Williamson added four catches for 120 yards and a touchdown and Solis caught four passes for 85 yards and a touchdown.

Farmersville improves to 5-1 on the season and 1-0 in league play. Orosi falls to 2-4 overall and 0-1 in league action.
