Miranda dashes hopes with pick-6 in Arvin victory

Jose Miranda played the role of dream-killer on Friday, as he picked off a pass and took it back to the house to end Foothill’s comeback bid and seal Arvin’s 21-12 home win.

In the third quarter, Foothill cut the deficit to 14-12 on a one-yard run by Jaffee Ward.

But Miranda’s interception crushed the hopes of the Trojans with his interception return in the fourth quarter.

Rafael led the Arvin offense with 22 carries for 124 yards and John Graves added 19 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown.

Arvin’s other touchdown was a 32-yard pass from Jesus Vasquez to Victor Vasquez in the second quarter.

Ward led the Trojans with 15 carries for 142 yards and a touchdown.
