Pittman scores 3 TDs in Sanger victory over Memorial

Sawyer Pittman’s three first half touchdowns helped Sanger jump out to an early lead and cruise to a 49-26 win over San Joaquin Memorial on Friday to advance to the Division II Valley Semifinals.

In addition to Pittman’s three touchdowns, Brandon Gonzalez and Travis Turner scored rushing touchdowns, as the Apaches took a 35-7 lead into halftime.

Pittman was finish the game with nine carries for 136 yards and three touchdowns. Gonzalez amassed 79 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries and Turner rushed six times for 58 yards and a touchdown in the game.

Also contributing to the Sanger run game were Andrew Azua with six carries for 51 yards and a touchdown and Zachary Brown with eight carries for 44 yards.

San Joaquin Memorial quarterback Michael Alvarez connected on a couple long touchdown passes to Ben Ecklund and Frank Dalena in the fourth quarter. But the deficit was too much for the Panthers to overcome.
