Portillo accounts for 4 TDs, Corcoran wins D5 Valley title

Corcoran quarterback Nico Portillo accounted for four touchdowns in leading his Panthers to a 44-16 win over Immanuel a for the Division V Valley Championship on Friday.

Portillo started the scoring off with his feet, as he rushed for a 32-yard touchdown, then went on to added three touchdown passes.

The senior signal caller ended the game 12-of-18 for 198 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions, plus he rushed for 37 yards and a touchdown on five carries.

His receiver Dillon Fugate had a big night also for the Panthers, catching four passes for 153 yards and a touchdown.

Although Corcoran jumped out to a 13-0 lead, Immanuel battled back and tied it at 13-13 to end the first quarter. But the Panthers pulled away, outscoring the Eagles, 19-0, in the second quarter.

Immanuel running back Rob Grier had a triple-digit rushing night with 30 carries for 100 yards. Kyle Dunigam added 11 carries for 75 yards for the Eagles.
