Ramos, Espinoza lead Firebaugh comeback

When Caruthers extended its lead to 20-0, Firebaugh was just getting started.

The Eagles scored 29 unanswered points in the second half, led by running back Carlos Ramos’ three touchdowns, as they came way with a 29-20 win on Friday in Firebaugh.

Firebaugh quarterback Mark Espinoza put ridiculous numbers, as he went 26-for-38 for 354 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.

Ramos was his top receiver with seven catches for 138 yards and two touchdowns, to go with his 61 yards and one touchdown on the ground.

Juan Garcia caught seven passes for 71 yards and Christian Patlan caught four passes for 52 yards.

Alex Olivera caught a six-yard touchdown pass.

The Blue Raiders also had a nice night through the air, as quarterback Jose Licea completed 14 of 20 passing attempts for 263 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions.

His top receivers were Michael Edlund with three catches for 76 and a touchdown and Victor Godinez caught four passes for 98 yards.
