Rufus intercepts first pass for Nevada


Bakersfield grad Asauni Rufus intercepted his first pass of his college career in Nevada’s 30-20 win over Hawai’i on Saturday.

Rufus remained near the top of the tackles leaders for the Wolf Pack in the game with seven stops. However he also added an interception to stat total in the victory.

Hawai’i jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the second quarter, but the Wolf Pack chipped away until tying the game, then taking the lead in the fourth quarter.

On the season, Rufus leads the Wolf Pack defense with 64 tackles, plus he’s intercepted a pass and forced a fumble.
