Samson boots 40-yard FG vs. hometown Bulldogs

Clovis West grad Trevor Samson boots a 40-yard field goal in a 52-10 win over Fresno State on Saturday.

Needless to say, Samson didn’t need much motivation facing the school from his hometown that didn’t show any interest in him out of high school or junior college.

Samson, who was part of the Golden Eagles’ 2010 Valley Championship team, connected on his only field goal attempt of the day—a 40-yarder. Also five of his six PAT kicks were successful.

A pair of Ridgeview grads—Kyrie Wilson and Shannon Edwards—made an impact on the Fresno State defense. Wilson recorded six tackles and forced a fumble and Edwards made four stops in the game.

Fresno State is now 3-8 on the year heading into its final game of the year on Saturday at home vs. Colorado State.
