Segura rushes for career high in Mendota win over Shafter

Edgar Segura scored 28 points himself before Shafter even got on the board, as Mendota cruised to the semifinals with a 52-12 home win over Shafter on Friday.

Segura ended the game with a career-high 380 yards and seven touchdowns on 34 carries in the game.

With his two two-point conversions and the Aztecs missing each of their PAT kicks, Segura literally scored every one of Mendota’s 52 points.

Defensively the Aztecs picked off Shafter quarterback Kyle Millwee four times in the game.

Mendota’s defense limited the Generals to 208 yards of total offense in the game.

Mendota goes to face its nemesis Firebaugh in one of the fiercest rivalries in the Valley.
