Stancil, Layman combine for 300+ yards of total offense

Running back Kobe Stancil and quarterback Jr Layman combined for nearly 300 yards rushing to lead Independence to a 35-22 win over Golden Valley on Friday.

Layman led the way with 21 carries for 161 yards and two touchdowns, plus he also completed 5-of-12 passes for 45 yards, no touchdowns and one interception.

Stancil racked up 138 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries in the contest.

After falling behind 21-2, Golden Valley went on a stretch where it outscored Independence 20-7, but it wasn’t enough.
