Steele makes big play on special teams for Sac. St.

Kingsburg and Fresno City College grad Garrett Steele made a big play on special teams on Saturday for Sacramento State in a 35-21 loss to UC Davis.

Steele blocked a punt, which teammate Tyler Meteer picked up and returned 43 yards for a touchdown, which at the time cut UC Davis lead to a single touchdown.

Steele, who helped lead Kingsburg to back-to-back Valley Championships, also caught a 19-yard pass in the game.

The game marked the last game of Steeleā€™s senior season and his final game of his college career.

Buchanan grad Ben Sorenson made two tackles for the Hornets and Bakersfield grad Marcus Bruce made a single tackle.
