El Diamante running back DeAngello Torres relentlessly dismantled the Mt. Whitney defense, as he led the Miners to a 49-10 win on Friday in Visalia.

The senior running back rushed for 260 yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries, to help his Miners build up a 42-10 lead heading into the fourth quarter. He even completed a 42-yard pass to Mitchell Boswell.

In addition to Torres’ production, Alex Schapansky and Michael Arias each scored rushing touchdowns for El Diamante.

Senior linebacker Garian Martin also got in on the action, with a 23-yard fumble return for a defensive touchdown.

Despite the thrashing, Mt. Whitney running back JaVaughn Malcolm went over the century mark with 23 carries for 133 yards, but failed to reach the endzone.
