Tranquility beats up new kid Minarets

Tranquility had no mercy to give to Minarets, as the Tigers handed the Mustangs a 58-6 loss for the young school’s fourth-straight loss of its first varsity season.

Seven Tigers scored a touchdown in the game, including Juan Lopez and Mauricio Cazares, who had two each.

Quarterback Ramon Leal passed for two touchdown and scored one himself on a 25-yard run.

Despite the 58 points, none of the Tigers surpassed the 100-yard mark in rushing, receiving or passing, according to the Fresno Bee’s statistical records.

Cazares led the team in rushing with 47 yards, followed by Jesus Juarez with 33, Lopez with 28, Leal with 27 and Eric Higuera with 23.

In addition to Lopez, Cazares and Leal, the other Tigers scoring touchdowns were Fernando Gutierrez, Juarez, Hugo Berber and Higuera.

Joey Ramirez scored Minarets only touchdown of the game on a three-yard run.
