Vikupitz verbally commits to Air Force

Bullard senior Connor Vikupitz recognized the value of a military education and the athletic tradition of the Falcons and verbally committed to the Air Force Academy.

Vikupitz indicated the education from the academy was a major factor in his decision, as well as the level of competition.

“The military academies spoke to me a lot and I went to a camp at Air Force, and I mean Mountain West football—you can’t get any bigger than that,” Vikupitz said.

The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Vikupitz attributed a lot of his success of learning to properly play on the offensive line to his head coach Don Arax.

“When you step on the field, you are definitely more prepared for better opponents,” Vikupitz said of Arax’s coaching style. “… In the end, it’s all about the toughness and how you come out and compete.”

With a strong core of seniors with a wealth of experience, Vikupitz and the Knights have big expectations in 2015.
