Villareal leads Dinuba passing attack in win over Reedley

Dinuba quarterback Gustavo Villareal threw three touchdown passes in leading the Emperors to a 41-16 win over Reedley on Friday.

Villareal completed 12 of his 19 passing attempts in the game for 210 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.

Emperor wide receiver Joseph Saldivar showed his explosiveness, catching a two touchdown passes of at least 50 yards. He ended the game with two catches for 104 yards and two touchdowns.

Wyatt Leppke caught the other Emperor touchdown pass on a 14-yard completion.

The Emperors also received solid contributions in the run game from Alek Marroquin, Luis Colunga and Lucas Tuttle. The trio combined for 19 carries for 182 yards and three touchdowns.

Despite the loss, Reedley showed some promise in the run game. Angel Curtis led the way with 28 carries for 117 yards and Adam Moraels rushed nine times for 95 yards and a touchdown.
