Wallace scores 3 TDs, Liberty breaks Washington Union’s hold

Liberty-Madera Ranchos has had back-to-back one-loss, Valley Championship seasons and both of those years, the Hawks’ one loss was to Washington Union. Friday night Liberty finally broke the Panthers’ hold of them.

Wade Wallace, Richie Brandt and Kendall Malone each rushed for more than 100 yards in the 15th-ranked Hawks’ 48-7 win over the Panthers.

Malone led the way with eight carries for 135 yards, followed by Wallace with 12 rushed for 129 yards and three touchdowns and Richie Brandt with 14 carries for 111 yards and a touchdown.

Jackson Watts added four carries for 62 yards and two touchdowns, as the Hawks rushed for 449 yards as a team.

In the first quarter, it appeared the game may be a dog fight as Landon Barberich tied the game, 7-7, with a 60-yard touchdown pass to Noah Beukers.

But it was all Liberty from that point on, as the Hawks scored 41 unanswered points.
