Washington Union edges Kingsburg in OT in another classic

Washington Union and Kingsburg gave football fans of the Valley another thriller in what may be the most entertaining rivalry in the Valley in recent years.

Noah Beukers’ six-yard touchdown run in overtime proved to be the difference, as Washington Union came away with a 48-42 win on Friday in Kingsburg.

Receivers Emmett Brooks of Kingsburg and Ranell Rogers of Washington Union put on a display, as they each went over 100 yards receiving and caught multiple touchdown passes in the game.

Rogers caught seven passes for 139 yards and three touchdowns. Brooks countered with eight catches for 172 yards and two touchdowns.

Kingsburg quarterback Josh Sierra went 19-for-31 in the game for 296 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.

Brandon Perez gave the Vikings 91 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

Washington Union quarterback Prentice Thomas completed 11-of-20 passes for 236 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions, plus he rushed for 58 yards and two touchdowns.

In addition to Rogers’ contributions, Carlos Silva caught three passes for 92 yards, to go with a 94-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
